Isa Kava, also know as Tudei Kava, is originally a Papua New Guinea variety that is now grown in Hawaii. This fresh ground root mixture comes from Paradise Kava in Hawaii where it is now grown; the kava is much more pungeant and has an earthier taste compared to other kavas but since being cultivated in Hawaii it has thankfully mellod out a bit and has a more balanced profile and taste than the Isa Kava that is grown on Papau New Guinea.
We were tempted to put it in the Hawaiian Kava category because it is now grown there, but because it is native to New Guinea, has such a different flavor spectrum and is so much more potent than native hawaiian kava powder we placed it in a separate category.
Perfect for seasoned kava drinkers who are in pursuit of the ultimate potency! Papua New Guinea’s (PNG’s) ISA variety is grown organically on the Big Island of Hawai’ and it makes a strong but smoother tasting beverage than PNG Kava grown in it's native home in New Guinea.
Warning! The Isa Kava variety of kava attracts or repels with no middle ground. You will either worship Isa Kava or you will loathe it! It's either requested repeatedly at Hawaiian Farmer's Markets by potent kava lovers or avoided by many for it's wild strength and next day effects (these are caused by a greater presence of double bonded kavalactones).

Hawaiian Isa Kava is a very potent blend and can be exceptionally long-lasting compared to other varieties. Actually, the word Tudei translates to "two-day" which is a great descriptive term for this Kava because its effects can last for up to two days instead of just one evening like most types of Kava. When taking Hawaiian Isa Kava, you immediately notice its strong taste and mouth numbing effects. This is a not-so-subtle indicator of its potency!
