Have any of you tried the kava spray? I got a couple of bottles of 1Hour Break™ Kava Spray to see how it would stack up against my favorite extracts, roots and powders; since it is in a small portable spray bottle like one of those breath fresheners I figured it would be great to bring along in my backpack or on the plane when I fly.
As soon as I spray it in your mouth I feel a bit of a tingle that warms and spreads on my tongue. There is a gentle minty flavor as well. Hmmmm, interesting! I can quickly feel a slight impact of the kava extract. albeit a mild one, not like taking a shell of kava root powder but still I can feel a effect but it has a strong alcohol taste and maybe it is the alcohol affecting me.
I found it to be a gimmicky way to get a tiny bit of a kava and don’t think it would be a product I would use again. I don’t think it could ever replace my kava rituals at home and with friends when we make a big bowl of grog and kick back and relax into the evening under the New Brunswick sky, and as for carrying some in my bag it is easier to carry some instant kava pwder in a container and mix up with water if I need some kava on the go..
The spray contains Kava Root, Passion Flower, St. Johns Wort, Lobelia Herb, Pulsatilia Herb, Honey, Water, Vegetable Glycerin and 20-30% Grain Alcohol by Volume.
The suggesting serving is 5 sprays into the mouth so you get 15 servings per bottle. I finished off a whole bottle in a few hours and didn’t find it had much impact at all!
